Prologue

“Vivaan?” Kiana’s voice was filled with contempt as she spat out his name. “Yes, Vivaan, my best friend, who opened my eyes and showed me what a cheat and liar you are.”

Atharv’s heart pounded. He had suspected Vivaan’s return might signal trouble, but he had never imagined it would unravel his life so completely. The pain and betrayal in Kiana’s eyes were almost too much to bear.

Tears streamed down his face as he stood silently, feeling the weight of her hatred like a physical blow. “Sign the divorce papers,” Kiana said, her voice cold and final. “And then I will leave.”

“What about our daughter?” Atharv managed to ask, his voice breaking.

“Keep that little piece of…”

“Don’t you dare use foul words for my daughter!” Atharv shouted, his voice cracking with fury and heartbreak.

“Yeah, yeah, keep that daughter of yours with you. I don’t even want to see her face,” Kiana snapped, her cruelty cutting deeper than any words could.

“How can she be so cruel?” Atharv thought, his heart shattering. “Is this really the girl I loved?”

“Now stop this nonsense and sign the damn papers,” Kiana demanded, her tone leaving no room for argument.

The foundation of their relationship, built on trust, had crumbled beyond repair.
